Classes

Before we can go inside, we must start with the outside, with what we can see and feel, so we start with the body. As we practice yoga, we walk a path through our bodies until we ultimately begin to pay attention to our heart and our mind. This begins to infuse our lives with fresh perspectives and it brings fresh meaning into our lives and to our actions. It’s here that the profound affects of yoga really begin to be felt.

Yoga Flow With Jo

Held at the wonderful Evolve Yoga Studio every Monday evening at 7.30pm.

These classes are a unique blend of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga styles.

The classes are designed to create a space where you can move mindfully through a carefully crafted flow of poses. You are encouraged to listen to and connect with your body, mind and breath, and to always aim to honour your own needs. There is gentle acceptance of all reactions and emotions so students can feel safe on their mats at all times. The slower Hatha style of yoga, with its emphasis on self study blends happily with elements of a faster Vinyasa style flow, to create a class that is suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike. I offer numerous variations in each pose to ensure that there is sufficient challenge for everyone and the opportunity for self study is, of course, always available for all.

Unwind With Jo

Held at the wonderful Evolve Yoga Studio every Wednesday at 7.30pm.

These classes are about relaxation.

I’d love you to join me for an hour of mindful movement, where the aim is to connect with your body, calm your mind and remind yourself of the importance of self care and relaxation. Wether you would like to leave your everyday stresses and work/life pressures behind for an hour, or you are coping with deeper difficulties and traumas that you need a little respite from, this class is just what you need to relax, restore and re-energise. Whatever your reason to choose the gift of restoration, I’m looking forward to welcoming you to my class.

The recommended dress code for this class is super comfy!

One to One Sessions

These sessions are all about you, about your needs and about developing your own practice.

In a one to one setting I can use my own personal experiences, knowledge and training to gently guide you as we work together to find ways for you to move forward with your yoga practice and self discovery, if you so wish. We can take time for YOU, whether you are a beginner or a more advanced practitioner; whether you simply want to enjoy moving and relaxing; or you have deep work to do, we can discuss your specific requirements and tailor make sessions that are specific to your own needs.

One to one teaching is the perfect way to begin your yoga journey, especially if you feel self conscious about being in a group environment. We can work together, in a private setting, to ensure that you grow in confidence as you learn the basics. This will hopefully then allow you to comfortably attend a studio class in the near future, if this is your intention.

Yoga can be incredibly healing for anyone who lives with symptoms of anxiety, depression or many other related struggles. It can offer ways for you to live more comfortably, as you work with these daily battles. Yoga can also be very helpful for anyone with a history of trauma or abuse. However strongly this is felt, the body holds on to the memories. In the right environment, yoga, through it’s mindful movement and breathwork, coupled with self study and maybe a little conversation if needed, can help to allow the body and mind to process these sensations and therefore to move through some of the difficulties associated with such personal challenges.

I would be honoured to work with you, to discover if yoga can be as helpful for you with these personal battles, as it was and indeed still is for me.

Private Group Tuition

I am pleased to offer private group tuition which, in a similar way to one to one sessions, can be tailored to your own requirements. We will meet in a mutually agreed space, such as a local yoga studio, village hall or retreat space and the rest can be planned with your groups intention in mind.

Private group tuition is a great way to receive a bespoke yoga experience which is more affordable than an individual session. So, what better way to relax and have fun with your family, friends or even work colleagues than indulging in an hour or so of tailor made yoga.

Group bookings can be made suitable for all abilities, including mixed ability groups.
